Margaret Toy

Manager

My name is Margaret Toy, I have been living in Derby for 7 years since my previous position at Woolworths brought myself and my husband here.  I made the move over to the Derby LPO 7 months ago and am happy to be working with an amazing team.  I have been in customer service for 30 years and enjoy interacting with the new people I meet and helping customers when required. I am looking forward to the new challenge and exciting times in my new position as Manager at the Derby LPO.

Joseph Buckle

Senior Customer Service Officer and Mail Sorter

G’day G’day, My name’s Joseph Buckle.  I have been working at the Derby LPO since March 2019 which has been my first consistent job since leaving high school. I have now completed my Post Office Manager training since working here.  I was born and raised in Derby, my interests revolve around fishing & camping with mates, although I also like music and anime. I aim to be as helpful as I can be for all of our customers. I’m quite proud of my terrible jokes, so if your day is going terrible maybe a joke will help.

Keep it Groovalicious

Dale Bradley

Mail Sorter and Customer Service Officer

Hi, I’m Dale Bradley. I am Derby local and grew up here my entire life. After completing year 12 at Derby District High School I left to university, where after a few years of studying I wanted a change of pace and returned to Derby. I started working at the Derby LPO in October of 2019 as a casual mail sorter to help over the Christmas MADNESS where I have been ever since. Since starting off as a mail sorter, I have tried to learn every aspect of the post office so I am able to be as much of an asset to the rest of the team as possible. On my first day I discovered my bike wheels were flat, so I ran to work from the other side of town, that was fun…Not!

FAQ's

  • What is an LPO?
LPOs may be run solely as a Post Office or in conjunction with another business, such as a newsagency or convenience store. LPOs must offer a range of Australia Post products and services, including mail acceptance and processing, postage stamps, money orders, bill payment and banking. They may also offer additional products and services including mail processing and delivery, philatelic items, packaging products, stationery, gifts and Post Office Boxes.” https://auspost.com.au/about-us/operating-as-a-post-office/licensed-post-office-lpo-information
  • How do I apply for a PO box?
You can apply for your PO BOX directly through the Aus Post website. For more information click the link below. Apply online, or download and complete an application form, then bring it into our Derby Licensed Post Office. Don’t forget to bring the required ID. https://auspost.com.au/receiving/manage-your-mail/po-boxes-and-private-bags
  • Why isn't my mail being delivered to my house?
Many don't know that Derby has no street delivery, so all mail that is delivered by Australia Post comes to the Post Office and goes to your post office box. The Post Office Boxes in Derby are sold at a reduced rate and renewed annually. You can apply for a free 6-month mail re-direction from a street delivery address to a PO Box, but not from a PO Box to another PO Box.
  • When and by what time will my mail get delivered?
Our mail is delivered Monday to Friday and sorting is completed by 2pm each day. Our outgoing mail leaves Derby every morning.
